Owner / Head Coach

Cara Hipskind

My Dad always said, “do what you love, and you’ll never have to work a day in your life.” That one didn’t really sink in until I opened Swift St. Fitness.

As a fitness trainer, I am committed to my clients. Our training methodology is a science-based approach to health - CrossFit. In addition, I value a true connection with each one of my athletes, one which transcends the physical, into the mental and emotional side as well. I’m here to meet you where you are today. Health is a lifelong journey, and I humbly strive to improve alongside my athletes. Together, we inspire each other to be better.

My coaching journey began in my teenage years, as a swim instructor and lifeguard during the Summers. I'm grateful for the opportunities that came from those experiences and an emerging passion. Swim classes progressed to water polo coach (Harbor High), Junior Guards, college strength and conditioning water polo coach (UCSC), to now a CrossFit (Level 3) trainer, 2009-present, and nutrition coach. I have accumulated over 20 years of experience as a coach in some capacity, working with all ages, skill levels, and backgrounds.

Curiosity and a passion for learning motivate me to provide the most current knowledge about health. I believe that happiness is simple and that we are all capable of achieving inner peace. Health is the foundation. Functional movements, solid nutrition, and a supportive community is what we stand for at Swift St. Fitness. The outcome is a community built on health.
